Vaginal Ultrasound

You lie in a gynecological chair or on a couch with your legs spread. A thin rod with a condom is inserted into the vagina. This doesn't hurt altough some people find it a bit annoying.

The lining of the uterus and ovaries is carefully examined. You will hear the findings of the investigation immediately.

If the lining of the uterus looks abnormal, some mucous membrane will be sucked away with a thin tube (pipelle) for further examination.
