Disadvantages

Disadvantages of participating in the study:

• Time investment, namely four visits to the hospital and one telephone conversation
• Some parts of the examination (vaginal ultrasound and blood tests) may be unpleasant
• Little money available for travel expenses and compensation for time
• It is probably very safe for your health to use mifepristone 50 mg once a week, but this study still has to prove that
• Small risk of known side effects and a very small risk of unknown side effects
• The risk to get pregnant pregnancy while properly using  the weekly pill is estimated to be very small, but has not yet been proven
• Small risk (estimated less than 5-10%) that additional examination of the mucous membrane of the uterus is necessary. This will tissue will be obtained with a Pipelle
• Very small risk of being advised to stop with the study due to abnormal liver function found in the bloodtests (less than 1%)
• Less than 5% chance of receiving advice to have additionally bloodtests to monitor liver function
