Fertility after stopping mifepristone 50mg

It is expected that ovulation will return 2-4 weeks after the last tablet of mifepristone 50 mg. The menstruation will then return 4-6 weeks after the last tablet.

If pregnancy is desired after stopping mifepristone, this can be tried immediately after stopping. Mifepristone is no longer present in the body after a week.

If pregnancy is not desired, it is possible to discuss which contraceptive method is desired during the 12-month check-up. This can also be discussed with your GP.

If contraception with hormones or contraceptives is started no later than one week after taking the last mifepristone tablet placing an IUD is immediately safe.
