Compensation for participation is not higher

The study was set up by the organization Women on Waves www.womenonwaves.org/en/

This organization believes it is important that mifepristone 50 mg becomes available as a contraceptive.

Women on Waves has raised money for the research through crowdfunding and donations, among other things. This must be used to pay for the production of the mifepristone 50 mg tablets and also for the costs of the participating hospitals and their employees.

The research is not funded by a pharmaceutical industry.

Because there is no patent on mifepristone, the pharmaceutical industry is not interested in funding this research. This means that no larger amount is available to give the more than 1000 participants a higher compensation.
